Week Ahead in Running Club
**All runs start and end at the bear statue outside the Nelson Fitness Center. Come early to stretch and put your belongings in the locker rooms (in the Nelson basement)**
Mon 4/1 – Fri 4/5: Regular run at 4:15pm
Mon 4/1: #MoveMeMonday Challenge
Fri 4/5: Fun Sock Friday! Wear your favorite funky socks! (regular run at 4:15pm)
Sat 4/6: Regular run at 10:00am
Sun 4/7: Merrimack Meet. No practice.
Every Monday this spring, Running Club will be participating in the #MoveMeMonday challenge created by the Linda W. Daniel Foundation (LWDF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting cancer. Every mile you run will raise $1 to support select cancer organizations. All you have to do is comment on our Instagram post every Monday evening and tell us how many miles you ran that day. Breeze Against Wheeze 5K Run
Register for the annual Breeze Against Wheeze 5K Run/3K Walk! The race helps to raise money for the Hasbro Children’s Hospital Asthma Camp, which enables children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds to learn how to manage their asthma in a safe and fun setting. The race is on Saturday, April 20th at 10am starting and finishing at the Nelson Fitness Center. To register, fill out this form. Registration is free if you’ve paid dues, otherwise we are offering a discounted registration of only $15, but you must sign up using this form.
Save the Date: Running Club Formal 4/20
Dress up with Running Club on 4/20! We’re going to have a formal and dinner in the Nelson Fitness center from 5-7pm. We’ll celebrate running, eat, and hang out. Afterwords, we’ll have an “after-formal” at Caroline’s apartment for some *late night* (post 7pm) activities. Attire: formal except for 1 garment or footwear is running (e.g. dress and sneakers, formal shirt and shorts, and dress shoes). Running Club members: $10, Plus Ones: $15. The event fee covers dinner and drinks. If this presents a financial burden, please let us know and we can easily sort it out. RSVP with this form!
If you are interested in racing with us (including road races!) or want to receive our training plans and workout ideas, make sure to sign up for the competitive team here! People who have signed up for the competitive team will receive a weekly email about training and racing, so if you think you might be interested, it’s a good idea to sign up.
Providence Rhode Races:
The Providence Rhode Races are on May 5th this year. There’s a 5k, half marathon, or full marathon option. You can register here using code 2019BrownRC for a discount. Make sure to join the Brown Running Club team!
