Week Ahead in Running Club
**All runs start and end at the bear statue outside the Nelson Fitness Center. Come early to stretch and put your stuff in the locker rooms (in the Nelson basement)**
Due to daylight savings ending, runs are going to get pretty dark for the rest of the term so make sure to wear bright/reflective clothing if possible!
Mon 11/13-Fri 11/17: Regular club runs at 4:15pm
Tues 11/14: First sprint team practice at 7:30pm (OMAC Indoor Track)
Sat 11/18: Regular club run at 10am
Sat 11/18: Club Chug Challenge Mile at 9pm
The rules: 4 laps of the track, plus 48 ounces of your preferred difficult-to-chug canned beverage. Before each lap chug 12 ounces. If you puke, run a penalty lap. Winner receives bragging rights, eternal glory, and a possible upset stomach.
Sun 11/19: Long run at 10am
Competitive Team Outlook
With nationals behind us, we’ll be taking a brief break from workouts to recover from the long season, but we’ll still have regularly scheduled training runs every day of the week. We’ll start getting ready to race again after Thanksgiving break. We’ll have training sessions geared towards people interested in preparing for winter and spring road races (especially a half or full marathon) and for folks who want to get ready for indoor track in the winter and outdoor track in the fall.
For sprinters and jumpers and hurdlers (or those who just want to try out these events), we’ll be starting weekly organized training sessions under the guidance of our new sprints captain, Amy! These will be 7:30 pm, every Tuesday at the OMAC starting THIS TUESDAY, 11/14. Bring yourself and your sprint curious friends. Contactahollshw@risd.edufor more information.
